Remember What Yoga Is
Remember the definition of yoga, and strive to live in the
awareness of it:
Yoga is the conscious state of harmony of body, mind, emotions, and Inner Self.
Yoga is also succinctly explained as: "Inner Harmony and
Outer Harmony — harmony within yourself, harmony with others and the world in
general."
Correct practice requires an attitude of Good Will and of
Friendliness, on your part, toward yourself (your body, mind, feelings, and
essence) and your endeavors in yoga.
Never strain in yoga — it's counterproductive. Never
strain! In both yoga postures and in meditation, proceed only as far as is
comfortable. Strain is counterproductive. If you ever find yourself straining,
you are doing yoga incorrectly. Back off, relax, and proceed as comfort allows.
